G2006 Update

The 2017 fall season marks the first time North Park Matrix has fielded a team in the Presidio League. While all of the young ladies on the 2006 squad are experienced ASYO players and have competed at the AYSO All Star level, this is their first taste of competitive soccer. As expected, we’ve had both successes and learning experiences.

It’s easy to focus on wins and losses but our goal is to develop technically solid players, to enhance their understanding of the game and to provide a safe and fun atmosphere. Part of our training regimen includes team building events and alternative practices.

Recently, we took the girls on a beach run in La Jolla. No soccer balls, no drills, just a good run on the beach. The girls loved their “break” from practice. Little did they know they were actually training!

B2002 Update:
Here's a group gathering from our Matrix B2002 team!

9/25/2017 - MATRIX Update:

As many of you know, the Matrix soccer program is a part of the AYSO soccer program that participates in the Presidio league against other competitive clubs around San Diego (and beyond). This year, North Park AYSO began with eight Matrix teams to provide a competitive soccer team for the young players in our community, including five boys teams (2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008) and three girls teams (2003, 2004, 2006).
Due to the efforts of the volunteers in our area, we have accomplished a lot and I wanted to send out an email with an update on the status of the season thus far. My hope is to send out a regular email to keep the community informed on how our Matrix teams are doing.
Some highlights of the season through this past weekend Sept 23/24:
1) A combined club record of 24 wins, 8 losses, and 4 ties
2) Three undefeated teams
3) All teams in the top half of their table
4) The improvement in team play over the last few months has been considerable

2008 Record 3-2-0, 3rd place
2007 Record 3-0-1, 2nd place
2006 Record 3-0-1, 1st place
2004 Record 4-1-1, 2nd place
2002 Record 3-1-1, 2nd place

Our home games are mostly at Morley Field after "Core" AYSO games on Saturday afternoon, we invite you to come and watch these talented kids showcase their talents, they would love to play in front of a crowd!
More info on the program to come, we hope to see you on the field and that your soccer season is going well.
